ABout me
Whatever you are going through, you don't have to do it alone.
Life can be challenging sometimes, and it’s vulnerable to seek help and support. I understand this because I’ve been there myself. Whatever you are going through, you don’t have to do it alone. We can meet where you are together, and transform your pain or challenge into an opportunity for self-discovery, healing, transformation, and empowerment.
I hold a compassionate place for those who feel silenced or feel that they don’t belong and for people who have experienced bullying, emotional or physical abuse or neglect. I specialize in and have experience working with social anxiety, general anxiety, depression, trauma, emotional regulation, body image issues, low self-esteem, and grief. I help individuals find relief and freedom from harsh inner critics and oppressive self-images. I also co-facilitate a therapy group for people with Social Anxiety, Shyness, and/or Sensitivity.
I love nature and draw on her wisdom constantly in my therapeutic work as well as my personal life. I also have a long relationship with meditation and am passionate about offering clients guidance and support to find and access their natural self and purpose. I am also a musician, and I deeply enjoy helping individuals access their unique creative potential, whether through the arts or by embodying their truest expression of self in their everyday life. My approach is warm, intuitive and creative, and my therapeutic perspective is holistic, inclusive, queer-friendly, sex-positive, and informed by neurological research and evidenced-based therapeutic modalities. I have experience working with individuals and couples from many different cultures and ethnicities, ages and sexual orientations.
I welcome diversity of all kinds. I was born outside of the US and my parents are immigrants. I am multicultural and understand the complexities that arise with many identities and the challenges that one can experience coming from another country and culture. I am bilingual and I also provide therapy in Spanish. Proveo terapia en español.
I have a Masters in Integrative Counseling Psychology from the California Institute of Integral Studies. I chose to go to CIIS because of its uniquely holistic framework and blend of Eastern and Western approaches. I have extensive training in Gestalt Therapy, Transpersonal Therapy, and Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy, and I am affiliated with the Bay Area Gestalt Institute. I am also a long time student of the Diamond Approach, a practice based in Sufi wisdom to cultivate self awareness and essential truth.
To honor my love of nature and its wisdom, I am currently training and working at Zenerosity, a non-profit organization that offers equine therapy. Equine therapy is therapy for individuals and groups using horses. Given that horses are prey and herd animals, they are extremely sensitive to the energy of others. They are like mirrors to us allowing us to see our behaviors/patterns more clearly through how they react to us. It is a powerful modality that also can be deeply spiritual and transforming.
More personally: my own healing and transformative journey is what has made therapy my deep calling in life. I know what it's like to need support and with someone’s help move towards the light at the end of the dark tunnel. It was through this profound process that it became very apparent to me that my purpose and passion are to humbly share with others the healing and empowerment I myself have received.
